Course Aim

To provide students with knowledge and experience of audio recording principles in practice. These principles are directed at beginner music creators, remixers, musicians, songwriters, singers, and those curious about what it takes to record, overdub, and mix quality music for film, sound and animation projects. Students will gain operational skills and understanding of fundamental recording concepts and methods through practice.

1 Demonstrate detailed knowledge of the main theories and terminology associated with recording principles, audio content creation, and supporting documentation.
2 Select and apply appropriate, effective procedures for recording and mixing location sound, film music, automated dialogue replacement.
3 Evaluate and reflect on the experience of producing audio recording projects for film and animation genres by demonstrating analytical thinking practices.
