Course Aim

This course aims to empower engineering students with the knowledge and tools to integrate circular economy principles into engineering practices and energy systems. Students will explore resource optimization, waste reduction, lifecycle management, and sustainable business models. Through a systems thinking approach, the course seeks to foster innovation and responsible decision-making, aligning economic objectives with ecological sustainability.

1 Understand and apply circular economy principles to engineering practices in the GCC/Bahrain, including life cycle assessment and design for longevity, reparability, and recyclability.
2 Understand the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and propose engineering solutions that contribute to these goals in the GCC/Bahrain context.
3 Evaluate policies and regulations related to circular economy and sustainable development in the GCC/Bahrain and understand their economic implications.
