To provide engineering students with advanced understanding and specialist skills in engineering design, stress analysis, stress distribution and concentration, stress transformation equation for plane stress case both graphically and analytically, beam design, selection of various mechanical components using catalogue integrated in a fully immersive PBL environment.

Demonstrate advanced knowledge of the applied loading and construction material in terms of stress, strain, stress planes, stress concentrations and failure; for a set of performance criteria and evaluate mechanical components. |

Produce detailed manufacturing engineering drawings using 3D CAD for engineering components and assemblies to meet industry quality and technical standards. |

Work in groups to design and critically analyze engineering components to meet design specifications and standards considering commercial, economic and social context of the engineering design process. |
