Course Aim

This course aims to introduce to students the various methods available for the effective and efficient resolution of international and  local commercial disputes other than Courts, such as arbitration, mediation, and negotiation. It will also provide an overview of the leading national and international ADR institutions engaged in providing the services for the resolution of such disputes.

1 Demonstrate a broad knowledge of the various methods of alternative dispute resolution that apply in local and international business settings.
2 Use a range of skills and techniques associated with ADR to conduct a full mediation session in a business context.
3 Critically evaluate evidence based solutions to issues encountered in ADR in both international and local settings.
4 Demonstrate appropriate use of workplace skills and technology
Requisites
  • Pre Requisite: 120 credits at Level 6 or above (or BPQF Level 5 or above or a combination thereof) from any programme within the Polytechnic
