Analyse the threats to shipping from international terrorism and piracy and develop strategies to combat them in given situations

Demonstrate an integrated knowledge and understanding of the range, importance and effectiveness of Port State Control

Apply knowledge of the principles of ship design and related terminology to make recommendations about maritime safety and security issues in given situations

Apply knowledge of the principles of ship navigation and communications in the investigation of selected maritime safety and security issues and the emergency responses to them

Pre Requisite: TL7202 (or TLB6202) + 30 credits at level 7 (courses from the BILM PAD only) + 30 credits of English (or equivalent)
