Course Aim

To introduce students to the practise of international air cargo transport operations with special reference to: The components of International Air Cargo operations / How NETS theory can be applied to the conduct of international air cargo operations / How contemporary issues in air cargo operations may impact on Bahrain and the Gulf Region

1 Analyse the evolution of international air cargo in terms of types of cargo carried, use of different aircraft types, patterns of service provided globally and the changing role of air cargo agents
2 Evaluate supply chains and international air cargo operations using NETS theory with measurable and appropriate key performance indicators
3 Examine the debate surrounding environmental sustainability and the use of air cargo services
4 Outline how globalization processes, including the strategic importance of location in the Gulf States, security issues and technological advances may influence the outlook for international air cargo services

  • Pre Requisite: 45 credits at level 6 (courses from the BILM PAD only) + 15 credits of English (or equivalent)
