This course is designed to provide students with an understanding of how supply chain management can create and maintain competitive advantages for businesses. This course examines value chains, buyer-supplier power regimes, and supply chain strategies derived from mapping the power regimes. Students will learn how to analyse an organization's strategic position in a value chain, identify key activities that create value, and strategically manage them. The focus of this course rests on the power dynamics between buyers and suppliers and how to manage supplier relationships more effectively. By the end of the course, students should have a comprehensive understanding of the key concepts and strategies involved in supply chain management, enabling them to make informed decisions that contribute to the overall success of an organisation.

3 Critically assess the challenges and opportunities associated with managing global supply chains, including the cultural, legal, and regulatory differences that impact supply chain operations from a Bahraini perspective.
