Course Aim

This course aims to provide students with advanced knowledge and understanding, and advanced-level and some specialist-level skills, on hydraulics, in relation to civil engineering projects. Students will learn how to analyse data, perform calculations, apply engineering principles, apply derived formulas, determine unknown variables, and formulate conclusions relative to hydrostatic forces, water distribution networks, pump-pipeline systems and open channel flows. Students critical thinking will be greatly enhanced. As students work on problems on their own, their sense of responsibility for their own work will be improved.
