To impart students knowledge of fundamental principles governing chemical processes, an introduction to the notion of unit operations, chemical reactors, process diagrams and practical abilities that are basic and pertinent to the study of chemical engineering

1 Demonstrate detailed knowledge and use of the basic concepts of mole and ideal gas equation to express the composition of mixtures
2 Apply stoichiometric calculations to determine desired quantitative data in a chemical reaction
3 Plan and perform chemical laboratory experiments and associated calculations, following health and safety practices and standards
4 Interpret and use process flow diagram /piping and instrumentation diagram to communicate technical information
5 Analyse the process data through graphical method and communicate the findings in a well-structured manner
