Course Aim

This unit aims to provide engineering students with critical knowledge and understanding and specialist skills in reinforced concrete design and analysis of one-way and two-way slabs, singly and doubly reinforced beams, columns, and foundations of a given structure using governing codes and standards in a fully immersive PBL environment. It provides load determination and analysis for the transfer of load from beams to columns and foundations.

1 Calculate situational problems in the analysis and design of one-way and two-slab of the given project brief.
2 Design singly and doubly reinforced rectangular beams in accordance with code requirements.
3 Design the column and foundation of the building structure in accordance with code requirements.
4 Write a report on the design and analysis of a given project.
