Course Aim

To provide students with knowledge and experience about the history of cinematic arts, and how the main elements of film theory are used to define various national cinemas and historical new wave movements in film history. Students shall develop advanced knowledge and  understanding of the history and theory of cinematic arts as applied in practice.

1 Apply critical understanding of film history and draw upon advanced cinematic knowledge to critically assess, review and make recommendations to enhance existing motion pictures.
2 Demonstrate advanced knowledge of historical film movements and cinematic techniques through using advanced filmmaking equipment and software to produce motion pictures.
3 Critically assess own performance in taking responsibility for significant contribution to a project in a collaborative environment working towards a collective goal.
