Course Aim

To provide engineering students with advanced manufacturing and fabricating skills in a fully immersive PBL environment for vehicle components such as chassis, suspension system and brake system etc to a specified approved design working in teams, following the engineering workshop health and safety rules and applying project management techniques, engineering ethics and code of conduct for professional engineers both locally and internationally and social and environmental impact of the product.

On Completion of this course, the learner will be able to
# Learning Outcome Description
1 Identify appropriate strain measurement methods and techniques to analyze engineering components.
2 Solve mechanical design problems involving thick, thin and compound cylinders and brake systems, using analytical and quantitative techniques.
3 Compare and contrast the principles of control engineering within a vehicle system.
4 Investigate ethical, legal and social responsibility of proposed products to be manufactured as an engineering technologist including the critical analysis of the cost parameters and environmental aspects in sustainable solutions.
5 Manufacture and fabricate mechanical components and assemblies to a specified design, working in teams, following the engineering workshop health and safety rules and applying project management techniques.
