Candidates may be awarded the Certificate in Adult Teaching and Learning after having met the following requirement:
- Completed TT6004: Tertiary Teaching and Learning

Programme Overview*
|
This programme is designed for people teaching adults in a tertiary education context, or teaching or training adults in the community or workplace. The course introduces participants to adult teaching theory and methodologies, including PBL.
Classroom practice and procedures are discussed throughout the course, as well as use of various IT based applications. Participants will overview lesson planning, classroom management and instruction giving techniques that will be subsequently observed in the classroom.

Entry and Selection*

Applicants must be competent in their use of the English language in reading, writing, speaking and listening, as demonstrated by interview or tutor employment contract with Bahrain Polytechnic.

Access to an adult teaching or training environment is desirable but not required.

Qualification Aim*
|
The aim is to provide an introduction to adult learning and tertiary teaching. In a tertiary learning context the graduates of the Certificate in Tertiary Teaching and Learning will be able to function at an introductory level, particularly in their planning and delivery of appropriate learning experiences, and their creation and maintenance of a positive learning environment. They will be introduced to the skills of reflection and critical thinking.
