Qualification Completion Requirements Criteria

Awarded where candidates have successfully met all the requirements below:

  • Completion of 8 courses (165 credits) listed in Schedule A.
  • Completion of 1 course (15 credits) listed in Schedule B.
  • Completion of 180 credits.

 

 

 

Awarded where candidates have successfully completed SCM8000 or ILM8000 post AY 2027-2028

and met all the requirements below:

  • Completion of 7 courses (150 credits) listed in Schedule A.
  • Completion of 2 course (30 credits) listed in Schedule B.
  • Completion of 180 credits.

Learners that have successfully completed and been awarded the Bachelor of Science in Supply Chain Management

or the Bachelor of International Logistics Management from Bahrain Polytechnic from AY 2027-2028 onwards will be

exempt from taking course TL8000 Data Analytics for Supply Chains, but must complete 2 courses (30 credits)

listed in Schedule B.

Programme Overview*

Bahrain Polytechnic was established by Royal Decree to address the need for a skilled Bahraini workforce to support

economic growth and development. To support the development of the workforce, Bahrain Polytechnic aims to produce

graduates with applied, professional qualifications. The supply chain management sector is critical to this vision. This

includes the different modes which, when joined together, are referred to as the global supply-chain and are made of

separate yet interconnecting industries.

The Master of Supply Chain Management (MSCM) programme aims to develop well-rounded graduates

and strategic thinkers capable of navigating the complexities of modern supply chains.

MSCM is specifically designed to provide students with a deep understanding of data analytics critical for supply chain

operations, sustainable procurement and sourcing practices, financial management through operations excellence

and leadership skills for cross-cultural supply chain contexts. These themes are covered in conjunction with the wider

issues of sustainability and international governance. 

 

Bahrain Polytechnic's partnership with industry supporters is critical to the qualification and input on the curriculum is sought

from key industry and government stakeholders in order to maintain the currency of the programme and ensure the relevance

of graduates to industry needs.

In sum, the MSCM programme is designed to prepare students in becoming future professionals and competent supply chain

leaders within Bahrain, the wider region and internationally.


The programme is appropriate for candidates seeking to advance their careers and assume leadership positions in

multinational corporations, government agencies, international organisations, or entrepreneurial ventures.

The curriculum is intended to provide students with a comprehensive understanding of the complexities of supply chains,

as well as the tools necessary to navigate dynamic global business environments.

  • Applicants must hold a relevant qualification equivalent to a Level 8 on the National Qualifications Framework (NQF) Bachelor, accompanied by an equivalency letter. This typically includes a bachelor’s degree or higher in any discipline from an accredited university.

  • A minimum cumulative GPA of 2.5 out of 4.00 is required.

  • Applicants with a GPA of 2.25 out of 4.00 may be considered if they possess relevant industry experience, with a minimum of 2 years.

  • A minimum IELTS score of 6.0 or a minimum TOFEL score of 60-78 or an equivalent qualification is required.

  • Bahrain Polytechnic graduates who completed their bachelor’s degree are exempted from English Qualification requirement.

  • Applicants must meet the specific qualification and background requirements of the programme they are applying to.

  • Admission is subject to an interview conducted by the relevant programme committee.

This qualification seeks accreditation through the Chartered Institute of Procurement and Supply, (CIPS) a global

professional body for procurement and supply chain management. CIPS provides education, training, and certifications

to individuals and organizations, promoting best practices in procurement and supply management.

CIPS offers internationally recognized qualifications and supports ethical and sustainable procurement

through research, guidelines, and professional development.

Qualification Overview*

The Master of Supply Chain Management (MSCM) programme developed by the School of Logistics

and Maritime Studies is intended for individuals with technical backgrounds, such as international

business, supply chain operations, logistics, procurement, engineering, and others, who aspire to or

are about to assume senior management positions in organisations or businesses.

 

The Master of Supply Chain Management (MSCM) aims to develop learners' professional

and academic acumen in strategic supply chain management theories and practices,

focusing on real-world supply chain problems impacting local, regional, and global organizations

and communities.

Learning is built on developing skills, theoretical knowledge and practical application in

core subject areas such data analytics, strategic supply chain management, procurement and

contract management, project management, cross-cultural leadership, operational excellence,

and international finance.

 
Qualification Aim*

Upon successful completion of this qualification the graduate will have:

  • Advanced knowledge and understanding of supply chain management principles, including procurement and sourcing,
  • circular and sustainable supply chains, operational excellence, inventory control, and project management.
  • Ability to critically analyse complex supply chain issues, identify problems, and develop effective solutions.
